Shannon specializes in working with children, teens and young adults to help them improve their lives and reduce feelings of discomfort. She is skilled in helping her clients through talk, art and play. Shannon enjoys creating new and original interventions catered to her client’s interests and needs. She is experienced in working with anxiety, depression, school challenges and trauma. Shannon values creating a warm, safe environment for clients which allows them to develop strong communication skills and new ways to cope with the challenges of life. She previously worked in school settings where she witnessed first hand how important mental health counseling is for school-aged children and teens.
Her approach is eclectic, bringing flexibility to meet her clients where they are and collaborate with them towards healing and growth. She incorporates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Client-Centered Therapy and Narrative Therapy and is trained in EMDR, which is a powerful tool for processing trauma. Shannon holds a Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology from Pepperdine University Graduate School of Education and Psychology.
When not in the office Shannon loves to spend time with friends, go to the movies, and be outdoors.
